dBASE successors

Though the dBASE table format and dBASE compliant applications are also supplied by other developers the dBASE LLC is the official owner of the dBASE application name.

dBase LLC

Table formats: dBASE III+ (III Plus), dBASE IV, dBASE 5, dBASE 7.
Also handling Paradox tables.

The dBase LLC company (previously as KSoft) is the licensing company of the dBASE application name since 1999 and currently marketing the dBASE application successor as the dBASE®. The most recent (2025) version being the "dBASE® 2019.2", still based on the dBASE 7 tables as it's core table format.

The dBASE package is a full blown relational database management system (RDBMS) handling any dBASE table from version III+ and up as supported by the BDE database engine as well as also handling the Paradox table files.
In the recent versions the dBASE may alternatively use ADO database connections not depending on the BDE, and thus pointing to a continued life support for the dBASE table format.
