Although most modern databases are based on tables of more modern technologies being more easily compliant with modern Windows versions or even cross platform, there still is a large number of databases with a long history relying on either Paradox or dBASE tables and still needs to be supported with current applications compliant with the more recent versions of Windows.
This is where PdxEditor comes in, as a free 32-bit Windows application, independent, non-profit, non-restricted, easily installed data table managing software.
With PdxEditor vers. 5, SQL script processing has been added - see SQL scripts.
As a strictly windowed application the PdxEditor does not support command line features except with table launch.
Except for dependence on pre-existing installed Borland Database Engine (BDE) (as used by almost all Paradox and dBASE based databases), the PdxEditor needs zero installation. Just copy and drop the PdxEditor.exe anywhere and run it.
The PdxEditor is compliant and tested with Windows 10 and Windows 11 as well as with Windows XP-32, Windows 7-32 and Windows 7-64.
Note: Aiming at still improving this manual (as well as typos), the date of this manual may not imply the PdxEditor application has been updated in parallel.
