Specifications

PdxEditor is a 32-bit Windows application designed for Windows tested with Windows XP 32-bit, Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit and with Windows 10 64-bit as well Windows 11.

The PdxEditor is an all in one executable not depending on any DLL's or other libraries but depending on the standard Borland Database Engine (BDE) for database connection.

PdxEditor runs without any preparing installation procedure and without any preconditioning Windows registration.

PdxEditor is designed for the database formats as defined by the BDE STANDARD driver for Paradox, dBASE and FoxPro 2.5 data tables.

PdxEditor executable file size: 4.3 MB.

Applicable help system types for Application Help and Local SQL manual: HTML Help and plain HTML files, e.g. organized as WebHelp.

Text data import: Tab separated, comma separated, semicolon separated text files. Imports first line as column headers. Uses Unicode or UTF-8 decoding if so specified in the source file, otherwise the current default Windows CodePage of the system.

The core of the PdxEditor is the SQL query (SQL DML) capacity using the BDE SQL implementation "Local SQL", also used by PdxEditor for structure manipulating SQL data definition procedures (SQL DDL).

To some extents PdxEditor also may alter tables without SQL adjusting field dimensions and field names as well as applying various table language drivers from the range of BDE drivers, as well as table packing and detaching table blockings from missing or corrupted dBASE and FoxPro index files.
