From originally developed as an in house utility tool for Paradox data tables maintaining a clinical research and quality control database, the PdxEditor has evolved into largely a replacement for the venerable Borland Database Desktop (DBD) distributed by Borland (and later Embarcadero) as well as by independent vendors along their BDE dependent applications.
With development of the Windows platform into new generations with new demands, the DBD is no longer working with the later Windows.
This pushed the PdxEditor into new ambitions adding new features and extending coverage to also support the community of dBASE users.
The PdxEditor is programmed with Embarcadero Delphi XE and as a core principle for the sake of maintenance without any third party modules except the embedded SQLMemTable unit used as temporary storage during delimited text import.
As a side project the Borland LocalSQL WinHelp SQL manual has been transferred and rebuilt as HTML Help as well as WebHelp, which both are free to use for other developers.
Development of the PdxEditor is 100% non-funded non-sponsored.
Development owes a profound gratitude to the many sources of solutions from the large and open minded Delphi community.
