Diverging field type designations

Encompassing the discrete origins of the dBASE and Paradox table formats, it's no surprise native field type designations differs for otherwise analogue field types.

With this background, the application language (Delphi Pascal) of the PdxEditor provides generic field designations to bridge understanding the common interchangeability of data between formats and versions.

Even so, third party applications may still use other designations for basically the same data types.
